Objectives
Provide an overview of the professional, social, legal, ethical, and economic issues related to accessing psilocybin-assisted therapy for relieving existential distress in individuals facing a serious and incurable illness in Quebec.
Bring together various actors involved in palliative and end-of-life care in Quebec to co-create recommendations that establish guidelines for the therapeutic use of psilocybin within the Quebec medical-legal context.
Contribute to the discussion regarding one of the recommendations of the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada, which states that “Health Canada should review relevant regulations to improve access to promising therapies, such as psilocybin, in the context of palliative care.
Ultimately, contribute to improving the quality of care for individuals facing a serious and incurable illness in Quebec.
